Motion Pro Fundraiser Helps Penryn Fire Protection District
Motion Pro set up a fundraising effort on the company’s website [www.motionpro.com] to help the local fire district purchase much needed firefighting equipment.
Motion Pro, Inc., Loomis, CA
The fundraiser has raised over $16,000 for the Penryn Fire Protection District since its inception in 2018. “We wanted to do something to help firefighters in California, and when the Penryn Fire Protection Volunteer Coordinator approached us and asked for help in procuring some much-needed equipment we came up with the idea of this fundraiser,” said Kevin Veltfort, General Manager of Motion Pro, Inc. The Penryn Fire Protection District was formed with the goal of providing protection of lives and property to the residents and businesses of the Penryn Fire Protection District.
This is accomplished through trained firefighters and first aid personnel able to respond to all types of emergencies. In addition to enforcement of fire and safety laws, the fire district conducts public education efforts to enhance fire prevention. The Penryn Fire Protection District is located in the Foothills of Placer County, CA, and strives to protect all dwelling’s and businesses in the area by working with the home owners and businesses in creating defensible fire breaks in the event if there is a vegetation fire that may threaten the structure(s).
The State of California is under threat from wildland fires 12 months a year. Penryn Fire Protection District assists in suppressing these fires throughout the State when requested by either neighboring districts, Cal Fire, US Forestry, or Cal OES by sending staff, equipment, and/or overhead assistance. “With Motion Pro supporting our mission in protecting life and property in our community, we were able to purchase a new Type I, Wildland Urban Interface Engine.
Without Motion Pro’s support with this piece of new equipment, our mission would have been more difficult to accomplish,” said Penryn Fire Protection District Fire Chief Mitch Higgins. “The continued financial support generated by the Motion Pro fundraising effort allows Penryn Fire Protection District to purchase additional equipment that helps us improve operational readiness and our ability to respond to the needs of our community. Thanks to Motion Pro's partnership with the Penryn Fire Protection District, the entire community benefits from a higher level of fire protection and safety." "We cannot thank Motion Pro enough for this incredible level of support for firefighters and a safer community," said Patty Neifer, Penryn Horseshoe Bar MAC chairperson.
